Full Height Aviaries 

Whether you keep pheasants, parrots, exotic birds, quail, finches, budgerigars or any other species, a secure, well-built walk-in aviary is one of the most important investments you can make for your birds. At Vyse Arks we handcraft every aviary at our workshop in Hampshire — built to last, built to protect and built to look good in any garden, smallholding or estate setting.

Our walk-in aviaries are available in two roof styles — apex mesh and flat mesh — in a wide range of sizes from 9ft x 6ft up to 24ft x 9ft. All are available in 19 gauge Italian galvanised mesh as standard, with a 16 gauge upgrade available for enhanced predator protection.

Apex Mesh Roof Aviaries

Our apex mesh roof aviaries feature a raised apex profile giving generous headroom throughout — ideal for taller species and for keepers who want maximum internal space. The apex design also allows rainwater to run off naturally, keeping the floor of your aviary drier in wet weather.

Available in 19 gauge ½" x ½" Italian galvanised mesh as standard — upgrade to 16 gauge ¾" x ¾" or our maximum specification 16 gauge ½" x ½" for the strongest predator protection available. All mesh is Italian galvanised throughout — panels, doors and roof. We never use chicken wire.

Flat Mesh Roof Aviaries

Our flat mesh roof aviaries offer a lower profile design — ideal for gardens with height restrictions, or where a more compact structure is preferred. A practical, no-nonsense enclosure that provides excellent security and generous outdoor space for your birds.

Available in 19 gauge ½" x ½" Italian galvanised mesh as standard — upgrade to 16 gauge ¾" x ¾" or 16 gauge ½" x ½" for maximum predator resistance. All mesh Italian galvanised throughout — panels, doors and roof. We never use chicken wire.

Sturdy Timber Frame

Our aviaries and enclosures are built from higher grade FSC-approved, sustainably sourced pressure-treated Scandinavian redwood timber — chosen specifically for longevity and long-term structural integrity. Panels are built from 58mm x 38mm timber, milled to a smooth finish (milled size approx. 44mm x 34mm).

Higher grade timber means fewer knots and weak points throughout the structure — resulting in a more structurally sound build that will stand up to years of outdoor use. Being pressure treated, your structure arrives ready to use — no initial treatment is required. When you do choose to paint or treat it to your own preference, the smooth milled finish makes this straightforward and even — far easier than rough sawn timber which absorbs treatments unevenly and can leave a poor finish. Every piece is milled to a consistent, smooth finish — cleaner, more structurally sound and better looking than cheaper alternatives.

Pheasants, quail, partridge, parrots, budgerigars, cockatiels, canaries, finches, exotic birds, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. Also widely used as catios — secure outdoor enclosures for cats.
