This Vyse Arks 9ft x 6ft aviary has been handmade at our workshop in Hampshire, crafted using heavy duty Italian galvanised 16 gauge 3/4" x 3/4" mesh and the highest quality pressure-treated Scandinavian redwood timber — milled to a smooth finish for a clean, professional result. Why choose 16 gauge mesh?

Our 16 gauge Italian galvanised wire mesh uses significantly heavier wire than standard 19 gauge — harder for foxes, cats, badgers and other predators to pull apart, force or chew through. For bird keepers with valuable or vulnerable species, or for those in rural areas with significant predator pressure, 16 gauge gives you that extra level of security and peace of mind.

Protect your aviary from digging predators with our heavy-duty anti-predator grass skirt. Manufactured from durable 16 gauge welded mesh with a 1" x 1" mesh aperture, designed to create an effective barrier to prevent foxes, cats and other animals from digging beneath your aviary. Supplied with galvanised ground pegs for a neat and reliable installation.

Construction & Materials

Welded Mesh
Made from Italian galvanised 16 gauge 3/4" x 3/4" welded steel mesh throughout — upgrade to 1/2" x 1/2" via the checkbox on this page for our maximum specification. Please note we never use chicken wire — it offers insufficient protection for aviary use. Our heavy duty mesh keeps predators out and prevents wild birds from entering, which is particularly important for in avian flu season 

Sturdy Timber Frame
Our aviary panels are built from 58mm x 38mm pressure-treated Scandinavian redwood timber — milled to a smooth finish (milled size approx. 44mm x 34mm) for excellent weather resistance and long-lasting structural integrity.

All products are delivered flat-packed with all necessary fittings, a layout plan and detailed instructions for straightforward assembly. Free delivery to most mainland UK postcodes. Delivered on a pallet via a 7.5 tonne vehicle — please notify us of any access restrictions. Lead time: approximately 5-10 working days. Some remote postcodes may fall outside our standard delivery zone — please contact us before ordering if unsure.
