The Chicken Run You’ll Eventually Buy - Because in the end, quality always wins.

It’s the perfect, safe, and comfortable enclosure for ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, and other pets.

There's a reason so many of our customers tell us they wish they'd bought this run first. Our 9ft x 6ft walk-in enclosed run with Onduline apex roof is handmade at our workshop in Hampshire — built to last, built to protect and built to look good doing it. If you keep chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys or rabbits, this is the enclosure that does everything right.

The solid Onduline apex roof is what sets this run apart. Your birds stay dry and comfortable whatever the weather — during an Avian Flu housing order, through a wet British winter or simply on a rainy afternoon when they would rather be outside than in. This is not a temporary solution. This is permanent, all-weather outdoor space your birds can actually use every single day.

Built the right way

Every panel is handmade at our workshop in Hampshire using FSC-approved, sustainably sourced Scandinavian redwood timber — pressure treated and milled to a smooth finish. Milled timber is cleaner, stronger and more consistent than rough sawn alternatives, and it looks significantly better too.

The run is fitted with Italian galvanised 19 gauge ½" x ½" welded wire mesh on every panel and door. We never use chicken wire. Foxes can chew through it and we would never compromise on the safety of your birds. Our mesh keeps predators out and keeps your birds safely inside.

All panels are pre-drilled and numbered to match the layout plan, making assembly straightforward. Gable ends are clad with treated shiplap timber for additional weather protection.

Our timber — built to last

Every Vyse Arks walk in enclosure is built from higher grade FSC-approved, sustainably sourced pressure-treated Scandinavian redwood timber. Pressure treatment means your run arrives ready to use — no initial treatment required. When you do choose to paint or treat it, the smooth milled finish makes this straightforward and even — far easier than rough sawn timber which absorbs treatments unevenly and can leave a poor finish. This is timber chosen specifically for longevity.

The Onduline roof

Onduline is a corrugated bitumen roofing material used worldwide for its outstanding durability and weather resistance. It is lightweight, eco-friendly and manufactured from recycled cellulose fibres impregnated with bitumen — completely free from asbestos and hazardous substances. Every Onduline roof panel carries a 15-year manufacturer guarantee.

Onduline fillers are included with every roof — these are specially designed to slot into the gaps at the eaves and ridges, sealing the structure and preventing small wild birds from entering underneath the roof line. This is an important biosecurity feature, particularly during periods of Avian Flu risk when preventing contact with wild birds is essential.

During an Avian Flu Prevention Zone, when all poultry keepers are legally required to house their birds under cover, an Onduline roof means your run is fully compliant without any additional tarpaulins, covers or modifications. Your birds have full protected outdoor space, whatever the law requires.
